A multi-talented visual journalist and graphic artist based on Oahu, Hawaii specializing in color pencil illustration, acrylic/oil painting, pyrography wood-burning; nature, wildlife, underwater, sport, documentary, & high dynamic range photography; and is a Hawaii state licensed tattoo artist. Born surrounded by water on the Delaware peninsula, I was drawn into casting lures in local ponds and setting crab rings at coastal piers from a young age. Later attended high school in southern Vermont, western Massachusetts, and southern New Jersey. An army combat veteran of the 25th Infantry Division, I enlisted as a forward observer during operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Recently spent six years exploring the northern Pacific working in numerous commercial fisheries including Dungeness Crab off California, salmon seining in southeast Alaska, pelagic longline-handline-troll fisheries off Hawaiian waters, the sustainable Sockeye gillnet fishery on Bristol Bay, and the super exclusive Norton Sound King Crab/ Halibut longline fishery. Now committed to the arts full-time, I enjoy spending time with family: wife Megan, sons Samuel & Owen; and all the outdoor recreation Hawaii has to offer. Currently expanding with the National Press Photographers Association, Matador Network, and Photographers Without Borders.
